This page explains how to delete your InkSpaceX account and the data we hold about you. You can delete a single piece of content (one story, one comment, one chat message, your profile picture) at any time without deleting your account, or you can delete your entire account in one step.

1. Delete a single item without deleting your account

Open the InkSpaceX app and sign in. You can remove any of the following from inside the app, and the change is permanent:

A story or chapter — open the story → tap the … menu → Delete.
A comment — long-press your comment → Delete.
A direct chat message — long-press the message → Delete.
A bookmark, highlight, or reading list entry — open the item → Remove.
A follow / block / like — tap the same button again to undo.
Your profile photo or display name — Profile → Edit profile.

Once you delete an item from the app, it is removed from our production database immediately and is purged from encrypted backups within 90 days on the normal backup-rotation cycle.

2. Delete your entire account from inside the app

Open the InkSpaceX app and sign in.
Go to Profile → Settings → Account.
Tap Delete account.
Re-enter your password (or re-confirm with Google Sign-In) to verify it's you.
Tap Confirm. Your account is queued for deletion immediately.

3. Delete your entire account by email

If you can't sign in for any reason, send an email from the email address on your account to privacy@inkspacex.com with the subject line:

Delete my account

Include your account email and your display name in the body. We will verify and process the request within 30 days and reply when it's done.

4. What is deleted and what is kept

Data	What happens when you delete your account
Account email, password hash, display name, profile photo	Deleted from production within 30 days; purged from backups within 90 days.
Your stories, chapters, drafts, and uploaded images	Deleted from production within 30 days; purged from backups within 90 days.
Your comments, likes, follows, blocks, bookmarks, highlights, reading lists	Deleted from production within 30 days; purged from backups within 90 days.
Direct chat messages you sent	Deleted from production within 30 days; the recipient's copy is also removed. Purged from backups within 90 days.
Push-notification tokens, session refresh tokens	Deleted immediately on account deletion.
Crash logs and diagnostic events tied to your user ID	Anonymised on account deletion (your user ID is stripped); aggregate, non-identifying signals are retained.
Audit logs of moderation actions (reports you filed, content removed for policy violations)	Retained for up to 2 years for safety, abuse-prevention, and legal-defence purposes, with your user ID replaced by a one-way hash.
Records required by law (e.g., for tax, fraud, or law-enforcement requests)	Retained only for as long as the applicable law requires.

5. How long does it take?

Single items (a story, a comment, a chat message, a profile photo): deleted from production immediately. Backups roll off within 90 days.
Whole-account deletion via the app: account is deactivated immediately and erased from production within 30 days. Backups roll off within 90 days.
Whole-account deletion by email: we verify and erase within 30 days of receiving the request. Backups roll off within 90 days.

6. Questions or problems

If a deletion didn't work, you didn't get a confirmation, or you have any other privacy question, contact privacy@inkspacex.com. We respond to verified requests within 30 days.
